Kenya: Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park is located in the south of Kenya - about 240km from Nairobi, close to the border with Tanzania. Amboseli sits in the shadow of the imposing Mount Kilamanjaro, Africa's largest mountain. The park itself is about 400km2.
The name "Amboseli" comes from a Maasai word meaning "salty dust", and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close.
