There are a growing number of options for vegans in Bend, Oregon. We recently decided to celebrate the breaking of the COVID-19 lockdown in Oregon and head to a new restaurant, Deeply Rooted, that had opened its doors amidst the craziness on the pandemic. It was a great opportunity for us to support a local business.

We often travel to Portland, Oregon for weekends and as we follow a plant-based diet having places to go that are vegan-friendly is very important to us. Luckily, there are plenty of great places to try out as vegans. Here are 10 places we have found on our trips to Portland.
Located along the trendy Mississippi Ave in Portland, No Bones Beach Club is Tiki-themed vegan restaurant with all the expected trapping expected of a Tiki Bar; surfboards, fishing nets and bamboo screens pineapples, coconuts; tropical drinks (with plenty of rum and coconuts) and tasty bites. While most Tiki menus contain a heavy focus on seafood and meat, No Bones replaces this with vegan alternatives such as jack fruit, soy curls and even cauliflower.
Staying in Portland, Oregon at weekends can be pricey but it is possible to find inexpensive and fun places to rest Here are 4 options that we recommend you try out
We are always excited to try a new restaurant, especially in my home town, that offers interesting vegan options. So when Bethlyn’s Global Fusion bistro opened up we were excited to try it out.
We discovered Falafel Republic last year during one of our visits to Ashland to watch plays at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and fell in love with the place. It has now become a regular haunt of ours when we are in town.
Located in a South-East Portland suburb, Off The Griddle is a vegetarian-friendly vegan restaurant serving up an ever-widening array of comfort foods. As with many of my favourite food experiences in Portland, Off The Griddle started life as part of the City’s vibrant food cart scene.
There are a growing number of options for vegans in Bend, Oregon. I recently discovered that a new place, Root Down Kitchen, had opened up away from the main tourist areas, so I thought we’d give it a bash.
There are plenty of great options for vegans in the City of Portland. Having had a hearty breakfast earlier in the day we were on the lookout for a place for a light lunch before setting out on our journey back home to Bend, Oregon. We decided to try out Rabbits Cafe set on a quiet street east of downtown across the Willamette River, just a block and half from E Burnside Street.
We are always on the lookout for new places to eat when we travel to Portland, Oregon – which happens frequently through the year. One place that has been on my list is Bye and Bye on Alberta Street. It is a real treat to find a bar that serves a totally vegan menu – saves having to ask a lot of questions when ordering our food!
During our last visit to town I had got us tickets for the Sunday matinee showing of the musical Hairspray ( the Festival does many non-Shakespeare plays). So, we needed to find somewhere to grab a bite to eat before our show. Pangea is a small cafe / restaurant along Ashland’s High Street serving soups, salads, wraps and paninis
Established in 2011, Ruby’s is nestled away from Ashland’s busy high street on the border of the Historic Railroad District. They feature a wide variety of breakfast burritos and eclectic lunch sandwiches, including many vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Ruby’s also offers locally roasted organic coffee, espresso and a large selection of house-made refreshments (as well as beer, wine and cocktails).
A wonderful vegan bakery with some very tempting pastries and cakes. They also have a menu of snacks and light meals to chose from – all vegan. (cafe / dining / restaurant)
Enjoy some tasty vegan BBQ dishes and comfort food at this down to earth restaurant in North Portland, Oregon. (cafe / dining / restaurant)
