Before leaving Hong Kong we had a couple of things to do on our bucket list; ride on a tram and take a harbour cruise
A day to escape the rush of the Hong Kong Island and visit the calm of the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery. Followed by a short detour to the fishing village of Tai O in search of pink dolphins.
A whirlwind tour to the top of Victoria Peak then across for a boat trip around Aberdeen Harbour before heading out to a night market. Phew!
We were greeted in Hong Kong by some wet, miserable weather. The weather in the tropics are complex. For Hong Kong and this part of South East Asia this time of year can be wet, and our arrival coincided with a passing tropical storm. I was happy though, because I hadn’t seen any rain for 3 months! Karen was concerned by the warnings at the airport, but we were assured that the “standby signal No. 1” was nothing to be concerned about.
