Oregon: Portland – No Bones Beach Club

Located along the trendy Mississippi Ave in Portland, No Bones Beach Club is Tiki-themed vegan restaurant with all the expected trapping expected of a Tiki Bar; surfboards, fishing nets and bamboo screens pineapples, coconuts; tropical drinks (with plenty of rum and coconuts) and tasty bites. While most Tiki menus contain a heavy focus on seafood and meat, No Bones replaces this with vegan alternatives such as jack fruit, soy curls and even cauliflower.

Oregon: Portland – Rabbits Cafe

There are plenty of great options for vegans in the City of Portland. Having had a hearty breakfast earlier in the day we were on the lookout for a place for a light lunch before setting out on our journey back home to Bend, Oregon. We decided to try out Rabbits Cafe set on a quiet street east of downtown across the Willamette River, just a block and half from E Burnside Street.

Oregon: Portland – Travelers House Hostel (Review)

As my life is changing we have been traveling mostly now for pleasure and hopefully retirement will be upon us soon. The sooner the better. We’re hoping to do a lot of traveling when we’re finally done with work. We don’t have a huge bundle of money to splurge on long, luxurious journeys so we are definitely thinking of spreading our money out and traveling on a budget. So, during our recent visit to Portland, Oregon I booked us into the Travelers House Hostel, a low cost accommodation option on Portland’s east side.

About The Hoblets

We love to travel both near and far, for us it is all about the experience. You will not find us lying on a beach in Bali, we’re more likely to be found wrapped up in warm clothing walking into a bracing along a beach in Oregon, or exploring the back streets of a new city.
