During our last visit to town I had got us tickets for the Sunday matinee…

During our regular visits to Ashland, Oregon to watch plays at the amazing Oregon Shakespeare Festival we are always on the hunt for places to stay. Luckily, we have found some good ones but I don’t like to get to stale with our choices in case one time we can’t get into our favourite.
Anyway, I was excited to find a one-bed apartment on AirBnB on Church Street, which is only a 5-minute walk away from the main square in downtown Ashland and the Festival theatres.
Church Street is a lovely quiet street, so you are well away from the hubbub of the town, which isn’t too noisy itself generally anyway. There is no parking per se on the property but you can park easily on the street.
The apartment is right at the front of the main house, by the street with its own private entrance. The door is left open so you can walk straight in – there is a key so you can come and go easily when you want – no complicated entry system here!
The property is a set of rooms in a larger house, consisting of a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. I am not sure you can call this a one-bed apartment as there is not a separate living room. Each room though is very spacious and filled with light. The main room has windows on three sides – so the light floods in. There has been a lot of thought gone into decorating the place – it is very simply furnished with bright colours that really pop.
The kitchen is huge and well-equipped with a full range, large refrigerator and a table. It has been decorated to be retro which was very quaint. Whilst no breakfast is provided there was coffee and there are places to eat only steps away.
One of our big things, when we travel, is good quality mattresses, bedding and especially pillows (we often take our own) – but no worries here everything was amazing.
There is also oodles of storage if you wanted to stay longer. We said to each other we could actually live in a place like this!
Overall, we were very impressed with this apartment; its location, layout and space suited us extremely well and I can see us staying here again on a future trip to Ashland.
